Weekend wellbeing programs on the Hudson River, led by teachers at the top of their fields.

Hutton Wellbeing
2027

Group standing in Hutton Hall for a wellbeing workshop

Join us as we bring small groups to 100 riverfront acres for weekends built around a single practice: a sword form as moving meditation, sound baths set to live hip-hop, qigong with a master teacher, writing as relaxation, and more. Programs run on select weekends, beginning January 22.

Every program is chosen by Director Carol Donahoe, formerly Senior Director of Programs at the Omega Institute, where she oversaw more than 300 programs a year. Each weekend is all-inclusive: your cabin or suite, meals by Executive Chef Ed Harder, all instruction, and the run of the grounds.

The rest is the property doing what it does. Mornings by the water, sessions in a century-old brick pavilion, saunas at the river's edge, firepits after dark.

Choose a weekend.
We'll handle the rest.

Way of the Sword: Cutting Through Illusion
with Damien Echols

Damien Echols

A bestselling author, martial artist, and spiritual teacher, Echols emerged from nearly two decades on death row with a deep practice of inner alchemy, chronicled in Life After Death and his latest, Alchemy of the Broken Blade. This retreat is where that philosophy becomes action: daily talks on the Great Work, sitting and moving meditation, and a Tang Soo Do sword form practiced as moving meditation to anchor you in the present. All levels welcome, no martial arts experience required.

Creating a Meaningful Third Act
with Karen Moon & Debra Krumholz

Hutton Wellbeing teachers, psychotherapists Karen K. Moon and Debra Krumholz for their program, Creating a Meaningful Third Act. This intimate, women-only retreat is your chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the woman you are today.

Psychotherapists with decades of combined practice, Moon and Krumholz lead a weekend for women who have spent much of their lives meeting everyone else's needs. Through guided meditation, journaling, and group discussion, the workshop makes room to reflect on the past, understand the present, and plan what comes next, leaving with greater self-compassion and clarity about what to hold on to and what to release. Intended for women at midlife and beyond seeking meaning, authenticity, and connection.

Hip-Hop Soundbath: Mindfulness, Music, Connection
with Ofosu Jones-Quartey (Born I)

A smiling man dressed in black sitting cross-legged on the floor behind a row of black meditation bowls with gold markings. There is a decorative tapestry featuring Buddha images hanging on the plain wall behind him.

Meditation teacher, author, and hip-hop artist Ofosu Jones-Quartey, who records as Born I, has spent his career joining two traditions rarely found in the same room. This weekend brings both: accessible mindfulness teachings and restorative sound baths woven with live lo-fi hip-hop and heart-centered conversation, all in service of slowing down and remembering your inherent worth. Whether you come for rest, creative inspiration, spiritual practice, or community, no meditation or musical experience is needed and all are welcome.

with Karena Virginia

Karena Virginia
Karena Virginia

A certified healer, Kundalini expert, and author of Essential Kundalini Yoga, Karena Virginia has built a practice around helping people find their voices. This weekend takes on the Law of Attraction as she teaches it: the science and spirituality behind manifestation, how your nervous system shapes what you attract, and practices for releasing fear, scarcity, and inherited beliefs in favor of coherence between heart, mind, and body. Psychic Awareness & Energy Healing
with Brett Bevell

A middle-aged man with long, curly, gray hair and a beard, wearing a black shirt and a pendant, smiling in front of a background with blue bokeh lights and white orchids.

A Reiki Master since 1995 and the author of Psychic Reiki and The Wizard's Guide to Energy Healing, Bevell has spent three decades making energy work part of daily living. An Emmy-winning actress turned certified creative coach, Maia Danziger developed the Relax & Write method she has taught at Omega, Blue Spirit, and retreats worldwide. Her weekend uses deep relaxation and guided meditation to unlock the unconscious, then puts what you find there on paper - a repeatable path to deep writing, playfully and poetically demystified. Feast of Qigong
with Robert Peng

Robert Peng

Robert Peng apprenticed at age eight under the legendary monk Xiao Yao in Hunan, China, and taught more than 150,000 students before bringing his lineage west to Omega, Kripalu, and Esalen. His weekend at Hutton arrives with the turn of spring: Qigong Empowerments, the Healing Sounds, movement, meditation, and his renowned group healing sessions, all working, as he teaches it, to clear winter's stagnation and replenish your energy for the season ahead. All levels welcome; no experience required.

Community + Connection

The difference at Hutton Wellbeing is scale. At the big retreat centers you can be one of a hundred in the hall; here, programs are kept intentionally small, closer to a dinner party than a conference. You're never watching from the back row. Teachers share the same tables at meals, questions get answered by name, and the strangers from Friday's welcome dinner are usually the reason people come back.

The place does its part. Sessions meet in a century-old brick pavilion, meals are served with the river in view, and evenings end around the fire. In winter and spring the property runs at its quietest, which means a small group has the riverfront, the trails, and the saunas nearly to themselves.

  • Small groups, real time with teachers

  • Cabins with walls of glass to the river

  • 100 riverfront acres of nature and trails

  • The historic 1873 Edgewood Mansion

  • Farm-to-table meals by Chef Ed Harder

  • Waterfront saunas, massage by appointment

  • Two hours north of New York City
